Negligent driver charged in crash that resulted in man’s death

| Mar 26, 2018 | Fatal Motor Vehicle Accidents |

Driving in New Jersey requires a person’s full concentration to follow the rules of the road and recognize potential hazards before it is too late. However, it can be easy for people to become distracted, justify speeding in an attempt to get somewhere faster, try to eat or read a text while driving, and ultimately put the lives of everyone around them at risk.

A deadly car accident in Avon, Massachusetts left one man dead and another with serious injuries. When investigators first began to piece the scene together over a year ago, they were told by the surviving driver that the other motorist had clipped his vehicle resulting in the collision. However, the driver who denied responsibility has recently been charged with negligent driving after authorities presented evidence that he was speeding before the crash. The victim’s family expressed relief that the truth has finally come out. They also talked about how difficult the entire situation has been for their family because of their son’s sudden death. If the surviving driver is convicted, he is facing a maximum of two years in prison.

For families who are coping with the loss of a loved one because of another driver’s negligence, they may benefit from the help of a qualified attorney. A legal professional can provide guidance and insight throughout the process of creating a case, which can allow loved ones’ time to focus on their emotional healing and recovery.
