What kind of photos could help in a crash claim?

On Behalf of | Sep 3, 2024 | Car Accidents |

If you are injured in a car crash, getting adequate compensation could be crucial to cover the costs of treatment for your injuries, the time off work you may need and other costs you incur. Gathering evidence such as photos can improve your chances of securing adequate compensation.

You don’t need a special camera, you can just use the one your phone likely has on it. Here are some of the photos you might consider taking:

Photos of the injuries you suffered

Photos that document your injuries then and there can help prove they came from the collision. Insurers might otherwise claim that you picked the injuries up elsewhere and therefore they do not need to compensate you for them.

Photos of the damage to the vehicles

Photos of the vehicle can help you to get the money to repair damage to it or replace it if needed. However, they can also help in determining how the crash happened, which might help you prove it was the other driver’s fault, not yours.

Photos of the scene of the crash

General photos of the scene can capture things like the road, traffic and weather conditions at the time which could also help explain the crash. They can also provide a record of the positions of the vehicles and of what other vehicles and people were there at the time in case you want to try and trace one of them to give a witness account of events.

Once you have got the medical help you need you can take your photos to someone with the legal knowledge and experience to help you build a case for compensation.
