Car Insurance Coverage Types
Bodily Injury/Liability – Coverage for if you are found at fault for an accident.
Personal Injury Protection (PIP) – Coverage that pays for your medical bills regardless of who is at fault for an accident.
Uninsured (UM) – Coverage for if someone else is at fault for the accident and they do not have bodily injury/liability insurance to compensate you for your injuries. This claim is made against your own insurance company.
Underinsured (UIM) – Coverage for if someone else is at fault for the accident and their bodily injury/liability insurance limits are not enough to compensate you for your injuries. This claim is made against your own insurance company.
Property Damage – Coverage that pays for damage done to your vehicle.
Comprehensive – Coverage for non-collision damage caused to your vehicle such as theft, vandalism, accidents with animals, fire, or other acts of nature.
