Comedian files suit after New Jersey truck accident

Any accident that takes place on the road can lead to significant injuries and loss of life. However, when a semi truck crash occurs, the outcome can be especially devastating due to their sheer size and the extended amount of time it often takes for them to stop. Furthermore, in Monmouth and across New Jersey, truck accidents may be more likely to take place when a truck company pushes their drivers too far, resulting in truck driver fatigue. Because of these risks, both truck drivers and the companies they work for have a responsibility to make safety a top priority.

After the limousine he was riding in was struck by a tractor-trailer, actor and comedian Tracy Morgan suffered serious injuries. Another comic who was riding along in the limo was unable to survive the crash, which recently happened on a turnpike in New Jersey.

Tracy Morgan has now filed a lawsuit against the company the trucker drove for, accusing them of negligence, claiming the truck’s brakes were not working and that the driver was fatigued. Morgan was returning from a Delaware performance when the limo he was riding in was struck by the truck driver, who was released on $50,000 bail.

Someone who has been hit by a distracted truck driver could experience many hardships. On top of the physical pain and suffering some endure, victims could also experience financial troubles, such as lost wages and medical expenses. People who are going through this may consider taking legal action to receive the compensation that they need to try and recover. Before moving forward, some benefit from discussing the details of the incident with a legal professional in order to ensure that they understand their options and take the right steps.
